PROCUREMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Mississippi State Port Authority at Gulfport is currently seeking bids on the following project: West Pier +25 Fill - Phase 1, Project No. 005.  The complete legal notice advertising this project for bid may be viewed by clicking here.  

The work consists of, but is not limited to: Furnish all materials, equipment, labor, and supervision and perform all operations necessary for the completion of the MSPA's West Pier +25 Fill - Phase 1, Project No. 005. The Contractor shall provide and furnish all tools, equipment, materials, supervision, labor, subsistence, rental, subcontractors, permitting, profit, overhead, appropriate taxes and any other related costs to raise a portion of the West Pier with all items and components as provided in the Contract Documents.

This project is covered by the requirements of Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Section 3 requires that when employment or contracting opportunities are generated by HUD-funded projects, preference is given to low-income persons and businesses residing in the community where the project is located. The bidder selected for this project will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Section 3 in the hiring and contracting decisions made on the project. 

Sealed bids must be received no later than 10 a.m. on March 2, 2012, addressed to the Executive Director, Mississippi State Port Authority, 2510 14th Street, Suite 1450, Gulfport, Mississippi 39501. A Bid Bond, certified check, or other negotiable instrument acceptable to the MSPA in the amount of 10 percent of the total bid amount must accompany each bid.

The Plans, Specifications, Bid Forms, and form of Contract for the Project are on file and may be viewed in the office of the MSPA, Division of Port Restoration, 2510 14th Street, Suite 880, Gulfport, Mississippi. PROCUREMENT - MSPA DREDGING SOLICITATION CANCELLED

The procurement for the MSPA's Dredge for 24 Acres, Project No. 003, that closed on June 28, 2011, has been cancelled. The MSPA will issue more information about this solicitation at a later date. (Cancellation notice posted February 1, 2012.)
